If you have time later in the week, stop by to take a tour of the school. The decorations going up are beautiful and I'm sure your child would love to check it out with you!

Our Resources for the week are:
Monday #1-18 ART and #19-37 MUSIC.
Tuesday #1-18 P.E. and #19-31 Classroom Activity
Wednesday Art and is an Early Release Day.
Friday is International Day!!
Parents, please remember if your child painted a t-shirt, we held on to the t-shirts at school.

HANDWRITING/ WRITING
We are completing handwriting by writing our weekly sight words, writing words for the word families and then writing CVC or CVCe words.
We are continuing our Memory Books. :)

MATH
We wrap up working with teen numbers this week and return to working with shapes. We will review flat shapes first and then move into working with 3-D shapes. It will be a fun way to end the year!
  SCIENCE
Studying real and pretend animals fits perfectly with our international study of Africa. We will look at the many animals that live in different regions of Africa and compare them to the way the animals act in movies such as "Lion King" and "Madagascar". We will also learn about the Cheetah and other animals on International Day!

READING
Our Sight Words for the week are all the two letter words we have learned this year: on, is, we, etc. Our Word Families are: -eat and -eep. Our blend is sm, here is the slideshow we will be using. We are reviewing all Medial Vowel sounds. We will discuss whether it's a short one or long one using this slideshow.  Then end by writing CVC and CVCe words.
We are finishing up our Module on Earth. :) The last story we will be reading is Goodbye From Good Old Earth. Then we will take our test and have a Culminating Day by watching videos on Earth Day and Recycling. Along with discussing what we are going to do so that we create less garbage and pollution.  It's going to be a great week!!
**If your child missed any of the stories we read in class, please read them the stories. Our Module Test has questions from every story throughout the Module.
